Even Stevens In Midweek Premier League Tie Battles

Only one Premier League match saw a tie wearing manager taking on a tracksuit-sporting boss, midweek. A last minute Stern John strike for Sunderland meant necktie sporting Roy Keane's Sunderland took a point from St. Andrews, where Birmingham boss Steve Bruce didn't even don a tie for his post-match interview. Very disappointing Steve.

The Barclays Premier League football season 2007/2008 kicked off this weekend with the usual first day flurry of goals and excitement.

The top flight's managers had smartened up for day one with 15 out of the 20 bosses wearing ties as they bellowed their instructions from the touchline. (75% of the population can't be wrong).
