Dennis Wises Up

New Newcastle United Executive Director, Dennis Wise, not only changed roles this week, he seemingly also changed stylist.

Throughout his time as Leeds United football manager, Wise was seen on the touchline wearing suit, shirt, jumper, but no tie. On just day one of his new Premier League role, the former Chelsea midfield man chose to don a plain black silk tie.

Arguments will rage over whether Wise was right to leave Leeds for Newcastle. What we are sure of though is Dennis' decision to give the role the respect of the tie is the correct one.

Burley ties up Scotland job

George Burley was today unveiled as Scotland manager after weeks of speculation surrounding the post. The decision to appoint Burley is an interesting one by the SFA. Of more interest to us though was Burley's choice of neckwear for his first day in charge of the national team.

Yes, you guessed it, he wore a silk tie featuring Scotland flags, exactly like this one available from Tiesplanet.com at £14.99.

To help Scotland football fans celebrate the appointment of Burley we are offering 10% off the 'Scotland Flag Silk Tie'. Just use discount code 'SCOTLAND' before 28th February 2008 and the discount will be made at checkout.

Prime minister Gordon Brown and England footballing hero David Beckham met yesterday at The David Beckham Academy in London. Of course the real story here is that both men wore ties, but there was other business at hand also.

Beckham told Brown, during a guided tour of the academy, of his interest in helping England in its bid to host the 2018 World Cup.

Richard Madeley Sees Error Of His Ways

Richard Madeley, daytime television presenter and long-time icon of cool-dad syndrome appears to have seen the error of his ways. Richard was spotted looking rather smart tonight, hosting Richard and Judy on Channel 4.

Madeley wore a luxury navy blue tie, nicely complementing his black suit.

A tie similar to the one worn by Madeley can be seen here.
