It has been another big weekend of sport. At Wimbledon Petra Kvitova and Novak Djokovic were crowned as new champions. David Haye was beaten on points by Wladimir Klitschko. The Tour de France is also well underway, which explains the photo of this Cycling Novelty Tie.

Wimbledon Qualifiers Start

Although the main event starts next Monday, Wimbledon qualifiers take place from today until Thursday. In the past John McEnroe (1977), Boris Becker (1984) and Pat Rafter (1993) have all gained entry to Wimbledon through the qualifiers so it is worth keeping an eye on the names involved.

Of course, it is the latter stages which will really grab the public's interest and in the Mens Tournament Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are the favourites. However, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray are also tipped to do well and there are sure to be some close matches along the way. In the Womens there is a wider pool of players with a realistic chance of winning, headed by Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
